Another one we omitted despite rinsing it regularly for years. Tipper’s Dogghouse Instrumentals EP came out in 05 and is tied to an album entitled Tip Hop. The really killer track on that EP is ‘Low Low Shit’ but youtube isn’t forthcoming with it so here’s ‘Pins and Needles’ instead. A bit less interesting but nonetheless worthy of a listen. Tipper at the time was best known for his breaks work, but with this release he managed to channel a lot of what was exciting about the cross over between hip hop’s boom bap and electronic music in the UK in the early to mid 00s, alongside the work of guys like Danny Breaks on his Alphabet Zoo label.

Also worth checking is his 2010 album Broken Soul Jamboree, which really updates a lot of the ideas in these instrumentals and brings the technical and vibes level up quite a few notches.
