I’ll never quite forget when I first heard this. Even though it was 2007, it had a similar impact to early influential productions by the likes of Dabrye. The way it combined dubstep’s bass pressure and templatic bpm with a boom bap swing and the soon-to-be trademark sidechained, distorted synths of beats was enough to have me listen to it on loop and cane it endlessly at every BTC party I played at in Tokyo in 07 and 08. One of those tracks that never fit into any genre box but captured a definite moment in time.
Produced by Ian Carter, someone you should get familiar with!
